Knicks Complete Sign and Trade for Raymond Felton

With all the hype surround the Knicks and their pursuit of Jeremy Lin, the Knicks went ahead with their plans to obtain a starting point guard, completing a 4 player trade with the Portland TrailBlazers. The Knicks will receive Raymond Felton and Kurt Thomas and they’ll send Jared Jefferies and Dan Gadzuric to Portland according to an ESPN report.

Feltons’ deal is reportedly for 3 years and $10 million and for all intents and purposes put them out of the running to bring back Jeremy Lin who has signed an offer sheet with the Houston Rockets up to 4 years and around $25 million.

What’s interesting is, the Knicks have seemed to put together the oldest front court in NBA history reuniting Marcus Camby and Kurt Thomas. Not to say those too wiley vets don’t have much to offer, however in a competitive Eastern Conference, I would think you want to get younger to combat against the Heat, Howard and the Magic, and the Celtics.
