Did you hear…?

When it comes to being in the public eye, one should really think before they act. With that being said, did you hear about Kenny Stills the wide receiver football player for the Oklahoma Sooners. A picture of him in a purple dress hit the web a few days ago.

According to someone who posted in the thread on 247sports.com (which is where the photo was posted), the picture was all in fun.

It was done as a joke. One of our DB Gabe Lynn got married this weekend and they posted that saying they had another bridesmaid. I think it was supposed to be an inside joke that was not supposed to get out.

As we all know, everyone sense of humor is different so it is safe to say that everyone who see’s this picture will not find the humor behind it. However, I myself think that this was done for mere attention. Outside of doing this as joke in reference to a friend’s wedding, people can make their own assumptions and will have their own reasons as to why a man is dressed in women’s clothing. This will keep people talking about you and keep you in the media a little while longer. Being someone that is always in the public eye, this may be the type of attention they are looking for.

This should be a lesson to learn from. If Stills honestly thought that this was a joke that would be between just friends, maybe he should reconsider who he can and can not trust.

Well it looks like Kris Humphries has a lot going on these days. It’s been rumored that his ex-girlfriend Myla Sinanaj is three months pregnant with his child.

According to TMZ  Sinanaj has decided not to go forward with a lawsuit she planned on filing against Kris with the help of her high-powered lawyer, Joe Tacopina.  We’re told Tacopina has already drafted the suit, claiming Kris defamed Myla by alleging she tried to extort him.  We’re told Myla has decided NOT to sue Kris.

This has got to be a lot for Humphries to deal with. Not only is he going through a divorce with Kim Kardashian, he is one the verge of being traded and to top it all of, his ex girlfriend is claiming to be pregnant with his child. If that is not a lot to take in at once, I don’t know what is.

Humphries and Sinanaj reportedly began dating again in January, three months following his split from Kardashian. After hearing about this, I feel for Humphries and Sinanaj. Their situation is not the best to bring a child into the world, and with everything going on in Humphries life, this can only make things more stressful. I can only imagine what Sinanaj is feeling like. She was the woman after the divorce and now she is the one who might be pregnant with his child. Considering how their relationship has played out, I just hope that the two can find a way to have a relationship that is in the best interest of the child.

People need to watch what they say because you never know how it can affect another person. Last week rapper 50 Cent took to twitter in response to a follower’s comment and offended many people in the process.

According to the Huffington Post, the ugly tweets were in response to an eager fan who wrote to 50: “Release the  album or get shot again.” The rapper allegedly tweeted back, “yeah just saw your picture fool you look autistic.” And, he didn’t stop there. “I dont want no special ed kids on my time line follow some body else,” he posted later.

Unsurprisingly, the twitterverse was horrified. Actress and autism activist Holly Robinson Peete took to her own website to write an open letter to 50 Cent expressing her disappointment with his actions.

At the age of 3, Peete son Rodney Jr was diagnosed with Autism.  In 2005, inspired by their oldest son’s autism diagnosis,  Peete’s HollyRod Foundation’s mission expanded to provide access to treatment, support and other resources to disenfranchised families affected by autism.  Through HollyRod Foundation and her family’s personal experiences, Robinson Peete has become an advocate for consistent and reliable education, outreach and support on both Parkinson’s and autism.

This is another example of how people should think before they speak. Everyone has the right to freedom of speech; however there are things that should be left unsaid. I am not surprised that he decided to apologize and delete the tweets. Celebrities need to remember that everything they say and do has attention behind it. Just because you have such status doesn’t mean you can say whatever is on your mind and no backlash can come from it. Words can cut deep and have a long lasting effect. Many feel that his apology was not enough. Parents of children with disabilities decided to boycott his music. What do you think?
