Joe Haden Faces Suspension for Failed Drug Test

Posted by

The NFL has one of the most stringent drug testing policy in professional sports, so if a player planned on getting past it, they would have a hard time.

That brings us to Joe Haden who according to multiple reports has failed a drug test and will face a four game suspension that he can appeal.

For the Cleveland Browns this couldn’t come at a worst time, as their defense has suffered numerous injures so fair during training camp, and losing their best player on that side of the ball would definitely provides problems for a team looking for as positives to build on.

The reported drug Haden tested positive was Adderall, which is commonly prescribed for kids diagnosed with ADHD. Other known uses for the drug are for those who suffer from narcolepsy and people who look to stay up and party like it was 1999.

I’m not one to cast stones, however if Haden took Adderall party, then he is just flat out stupid. Considering how important he is to the team and how the NFL drug policy is, he shouldn’t jeopardize what is a short time to maximize his earning potential. Not saying one can’t have a good time, but guzzle a case of 5 hour energy, Ciroc, and keep it moving.

The NFL and Browns have not confirmed or denied the reports, and if it is confirmed he has failed a drug test, the drug he used will not be disclosed.

Here’s hoping that whatever Haden used, he has a prescription for. If not the Browns season will certainly not get off to the good start they hoped.
