Weekend Entertainment Wrap Up #11

Did you hear…?

What a week for Chad Ochocinco. First he was arrested for domestic violence against his wife of six weeks Evelyn Lozada. Then he was cut from the Miami Dolphins only 24 hours after his arrest. Now, VH1 has cancelled plans forChadand Evelyn’s upcoming reality show that was supposed to debut Sept. 3.

On August 14th, Lozada filed for divorce, stating that her marriage to Ochocinco is “irretrievably broken”. The incident occurred between the two when Lozada confronted Ochocinco about a receipt found in his car for a box of condoms.

According to TMZ, Law enforcement sources tell us Johnson allegedly head-butted Lozada during an argument, and when cops arrived to the scene, Lozada had lacerations on her forehead. According to our sources, the fight started when Lozada found a receipt for condoms in the center of the couple’s Maserati and confronted Johnson about it. A verbal argument ensued. We’re told at some point during the argument, Johnson head-butted Lozada. According to reports, Johnson told police he butted heads with Lozada by accident.

If you ever followed Basketball Wives, there was an episode whereChadand Evelyn had a discussion about being faithful to one another. Evelyn put it out there that ifChadwas to be unfaithful then he should be upfront with her about it. I guess she got upset seeing how he acted before talking it over with her first.

This is just another example of how your actions in life can have a great effect on how your future plays out. Due to careless, violent actions, Ochocinco has lost his wife, his position on the Miami Dolphins, the airing of his upcoming reality show and an endorsement deal for coconut water with the band Zico.

Three years later and it’s still a topic of discussion. Rihanna’s interview with Oprah for “Oprah’s Next Chapter”  aired this past Sunday and Rihanna’s relationship with Chris Brown was a topic for discussion and it was revealed that she still loves Brown and they are working on rebuilding their friendship.

According to The Urban Daily, Chris Brown feels like the past should stay in the past and it is time to move on and not relive the event that happened three years ago.

The source claims: “Chris is just confused about Rihanna’s decision to bring up the past again and again — this time in an interview with Oprah,” a source tells Radar. “Rihanna has previously given wide ranging interviews about the beating to Diane Sawyer and several print magazines. Chris just doesn’t think it’s productive or relevant to rehash the events since essentially nothing new is being revealed in the interview Rihanna has done with Oprah. Chris doesn’t begrudge Rihanna at all for talking about it but he thinks that in order for them to both move forward and not be defined by that one night, it would be better to stop bringing it up.”

It’s been three years and they two are no longer together, yet she admitted to still loving him. I understand that you can’t help who you love and that is one emotion you can not turn on and off. However why are people talking about this like it just happened the other day. Time has passed, the punishment has been handed and served, and the two have decided to work on their relationship. It’s their business and their choice. The past is in the past, what is so hard about leaving it there?

Does anyone really care that Tracee Ellis Ross is leaving the BET sitcom “Reed Between The Lines”? I don’t. I’m sorry but I am not a fan of that show and I wouldn’t be surprised if the show gets cancelled. The idea behind the show wasn’t bad but the writing was not the greatest and the actors were mediocre.

According to the Sister 2 Sister Magazine, Her exit from the show may be more of a “see you later” than a final goodbye as Tracee indicated that there’s a “chance” she may someday return. There don’t seem to be any hard feelings from the network as BET President of Original Programming and News Loretha Jones said that Tracee is “an amazing talent,” stating, “We wish her nothing but the best and hope to work with her again in the future.”

With Ross’ leaving the show will still go on. The story line has been reported that Carla moves to Los Angeles to pursue her dream job while her husband Alex is hesitant about moving and how it will affect the kids so he stays back home with them. Michole White, Tony Rock and Charlie Robinson have all been added to the cast. Michole and Tony will play Alex’s friends as they help him handle the kids on his own and deal with his marriage.

The show was not as good as it was portrayed to be in my opinion and it was not a good show to watch. I made myself watch an entire episode and I was disappointed. That was a half hour of my life I will never get back. I wouldn’t be surprised if the show did not make it past season II. Let’s see what season II has to bring. Maybe things will turn around with the cast new edition.
