In a tradition the Cleveland Browns have started since 2001, this Sunday September 23, the Browns will induct running back Ernie Green and cornerback Clarence Scott into their class of Cleveland Browns Legends.

The Cleveland Browns will induct former defensive back Clarence Scott (1971-83) and running back Ernie Green (1962-68) into the Cleveland Browns Legends, the team announced today. The pair will be honored during Alumni Weekend (September 22-23), which will include a special halftime ceremony at Cleveland Browns Stadium during the Browns home game on September 23 against the Buffalo Bills. The Browns created the Cleveland Browns Legends program in 2001 to honor former players who have made a major impact on the organization. After being on hiatus in 2009, the program was brought back in 2010, coinciding with the unveiling of the Ring of Honor at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

DB Clarence Scott (1971-83) – Appeared in 186 games during his 13 seasons with the Browns… Recorded 39 career interceptions, a figure which currently ranks as the third-most in club history… Helped the Browns capture two division titles… Selected to the 1974 Pro Bowl.

RB Ernie Green (1962-68) – Rushed for 3,204 yards on 668 attempts with 15 touchdowns and added 195 receptions for 2,036 yards with 20 scores… His 4.8-yard average per rushing attempt is the second-best figure in team history… Helped the Browns appear in three NFL Championship games, including capturing the 1964 league title… Selected to two (1967-68) Pro Bowls… Appeared in 89 career games.
