While the Pittsburgh Pirates haven’t had much to celebrate over the last decade, today they can at least be proud that they are getting some good pub.

Andrew McCutchen won a fan vote to be on the cover of MLB The Show 13, he beat out Yankees CC Sabathia, Tigers Miguel Cabrera and Dodgers Matt Kemp.

McCutchen has been one of the best things to happen to the Pirates since 2009. Last year in 2012 he had 194 hits, 31 home runs, 91 runs batted in with a .327 batting average.

McCutchen was selected to his 2nd all star game and finished 3rd in the MVP vote. He’s one of the best outfielders receiving his first gold glove and silver slugger award in 2012 also.

MLB The Show is the only baseball game on the market right now and to win the cover contest McCutchen had these two sales pitches to sway the public to vote for him.
