Michael Carter-Williams Declares for the NBA Draft

Michael Carter Williams

Less than a week after the Syracuse Orange made an improbable run to the Final Four, the centerpiece for the run Michael Carter-Williams will not be back next year for another deep run. The sophomore guard who averaged 13 ppg. in the tournament has declared for the NBA Draft.

Carter-Williams playing in his first full season for the Orange after playing only 15 minutes a game last year is the number 9 prospect in the draft on Chad Ford’s Big Board. His biggest asset may be his passing though as he averaged 7.3 assists per game which ranked 5th in all of college basketball.

He has a shot to be the second consecutive lottery pick for the Orange after Dion Waiters went to the Cavaliers with the 3rd overall pick. If he is gonna get it done at the next level he will have to improve his shot after he shot only 39% from the field and 29% from 3 pt range. The size of Michael is definitely an advantage as there are not that many point guards that are 6 ft. 6  in the NBA.
