Tiger Woods paid a visit to Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, NY the site of the PGA Championship and left very critical of the greens situation. This critique came following a practice round on Tuesday.
Of the greens Woods said, ” The greens are spotty, and it’ll be interesting to see what they do…” The greens were running under a 9 on the Stimpmeter where most major tournament courses run around a 12 or 13. With the speeds being low Woods is concerned since he has historically struggled to putt on slow greens.
The course is still being revamped following significant flooding in July. The greens are expected to be faster than they were this week, but will likely still be below the 12 or 13 that Woods is looking for.
Tiger will tee off this week at the Bridegstone as he prepares for the PGA Championship a week from tomorrow.
