Is Braxton Miller Rooting for Oregon to the Buckeyes?

braxton miller

After The Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide people have been picking sides on who they think will win the championship game between the Buckeyes and the Oregon Ducks. Vegas already has the early line with the Oregon as a 7 point favorite.

Well Vegas aren’t the only ones rolling with the Ducks, injured Buckeyes qb Braxton Miller is picking them to win as well… Wait what?!

I didn’t believe it either until I saw the picture proof evidence.

bmiller picking oregon1

While I’m not the biggest conspiracy theorist, let’s examine a few of the reasons Braxton might’ve picked Oregon to beat his own school.

5. He’s using reverse psychology to motivate his teammates. Out are locker room speeches, in are twitter beefs and social media stunts.

4. He wants his own team to lose so he has a better chance of getting his position back. Face it, he’s technically third behind Cardale Jones and JT Barrett. He can basically start the ball rolling on they aren’t good without him.

3. He hit the wrong button. We know how funny touch screens can be, you’re half ass paying attention to what you’re doing and next thing you know you’re being insubordinate against your own school. Honest mistake.

2. He was bookmarking this tweet to re tweet it out later. For whatever reason he didn’t just re tweet in right then, he wanted to make sure all his followers saw it.

1. He was hacked/someone else was using his phone. We’ve heard this excuse many times before. Perhaps this is one of the few times it’s actually true and it wasn’t him at the helm of the smartphone faux pa.

If you ask me I’m going with reason number 3, it makes sense and he couldn’t lack that much self awareness to think that no one would look at his favorites right?

The Fall of Johnny Football

Johnny Manziel party

Just over 8 months ago we saw a young, innocent, sparkling quarterback raising the Heisman trophy in New York City. Since then Johnny Manziel has been living the life of a rock-star and through his twitter account has brought all of the world along on the journey.

Much of his actions are now being brought into question since his departure at the Manning Passing Academy last week. Manziel overslept when his phone died and many have wondered if this story is true or if he was hungover after a party the night before.

This is not the first blip on the radar since winning the Heisman and more of his past is coming to light as we get to know this young man more and more. He has shown that he is a party animal, has been in trouble with the law after a bar fight in 2012, is arrogant after pushing a grad assistant, and slamming loyal followers on Twitter.

Many people are shocked but what has come to light with Johnny and why this stuff hasn’t come out before. Even though he hasn’t blazed the perfect trail as a Heisman winner, but the way our society is built if he performs on the field no one will care how many beers he drinks or fans he slams on Twitter.

P.J. Hairston Arrested on Drug Possession

UNC

Following a breakout season at Chapel Hill, in which P.J. Hairston led the team in scoring he was arrested on Wednesday night and charged with possession of marijuana. He was arrested along with two other men at a checkpoint in East Durham when he was driving without a license as well.

Hairston is out on bond according to university officials and the school is continuing the investigation today. The Tar Heels sports information director Steve Kirschner told ESPN, “We’re currently looking into it to gather the facts. We will issue a statement when we have enough information to do so.”

Hairston considered going to the NBA following his standout sophomore year, but decided to return to bolster the Tar Heels for the upcoming season. It is still up in the air if Hairston will go to Colorado to try out for the 2013 USA Basketball World University Games.

Former Ohio State Player Refuses to Give Teams His Phone Number

deshaun thomas

Deshaun Thomas is preparing for NBA Draft and meeting with teams at the combine, however if a teams wants to get in contact with him they won’t be able to call his cell phone.

Thomas explained that if teams informed him they would be drafting him he would release his phone number to them.

“I can’t go around giving it out to everyone,” Thomas said Thursday with a laugh. “Now if they want to draft me, I’d be happy to give it to them.”

Thomas is projected to be a second round pick after finishing his junior year at Ohio State leading the Big Ten in scoring and is currently working out to decrease his body fat from 12% to 8-9% with the hopes of moving up into the first round.

The NBA Draft takes place June 27th.

Ryan Nassib Will be Number 1 QB.

ryan_nassib_nfl_draft

The 2013 NFL Draft might not be packed full with top flight quarterbacks, but this draft could be important for one young man who not many people know about Ryan Nassib.

Nassib is a 23 year old from West Chester, PA who played his college ball a Syracuse University. He is underrated in almost all categories and should go as the top quarterback in this draft.

Many think Geno Smith from West Virginia will, but his lack of mental toughness, struggles with reading the defense, and overrated arm he will likely fall to the 2nd round. Some say Matt Barkley will be the next big thing, similar to a Drew Brees. All I see is the USC quarterback curse continue. The biggest question mark for Barkley is whether his shoulder is healed enough for the weak armed young man.

After looking at the first two then we look at Nassib. He has a great arm, high football IQ, good athleticism, and the mental poise of playing on a rebuilt team. The only question is if he will get a shot to start in the league.

Watch out for the 8th pick the Bills hired his college coach Doug Marrone and Nassib would love to play in Buffalo. All in all Nassib will be the top QB from the 2013 draft in 5 years.
