America’s Game: The Fantasy Football Edition

It all started in January 2013. That was the year when the owner of Jbsmooth84 and the Zeke’s show met. They met as co-workers and over the years developed a bond that only true sports fans could ever understand. With Jbsmooth84 being a true fan of the Cleveland Browns and Zeke’s show owner a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the two always had interesting conversations about Football and so much more.

With both owners partaking in fantasy football over the years, this was the first time, the two partook in their favorite time of the year together. However, things were not looking promising for jbmsooth84 and his team. He was given the first-round draft pick and had reservations with the idea that there would be thirteen more picks before his turn comes around again. Now the time came for both teams first match up. With his overzealous confidence, Zeke’s team did beat Jbsmooth84 by double digits Taking away the first-place spot from jbsmooth84 after starting off the season perfectly with a score of 7-0. Jbsmooth84 was not taking his loss lightly at all. He was on a mission to redeem himself after their only regular season matchup.

Video: Warren Sapp Asks; When Hasn’t Rick Ross lied?

warren sapp on sway shade45

Warren Sapp recently stopped by the Sway in the Morning show on Shade45 and discussed his recent honoring at the 29th annual Great Sports Legends Dinner with the likes of Pedro Martinez, Hakeem Olajuwon, Joe Sakic, Grant Hill and more.

He was asked about his rumored Super Bowl bet with rapper Rick Ross and which Sapp replied with”how many times have you known Rick Ross to lie?” He goes on to explain that he advised Ross not to bet money on Seattle, which if true, Ross should be upset with Sapp for giving him bad advice.

However, Sapps’ account of how the story got legs, he just retweeted a tweet and paid no mind to what the tweet said is kind of silly. Retweeting something is similar to cosigning someones statement.

Do you believe Sapps’ side of the story, you be the judge, peep the video below.

J.J. Watt to Play Offense

JJ-Watt-salute

J.J. Watt the star DE for the Houston Texans is done with just swatting passes and sacking quarterbacks. Watt has reportedly asked to play some offense during goal line situations.

This is not a new thing for the sack leader from last year to ask Coach Kubiak to jump to the other side of the ball. Watt has lobbied for the switch since he first came to the Texans and says he will continue until he gets to play along side WR Andre Johnson.

If the change does occur that means fans will get to see the famous Watt salute more than just when he throws a quarterback to the turf. Coach Kubiak did say a goal-line package has been discussed that does include Watt.

Aaron Hernandez’s Home Searched

Police and other officials searched the home of Patriots Aaron Hernandez earlier today in connection with the death of a man alleged to be an associate of the star tight end. Massachusetts state police are setting up an interview with Hernandez following their current investigation.

During the search two of Aaron’s friends tried to leave the house but were halted by police. Hernandez has not been named a suspect, but a car with Rhode Island located near the scene lead officials to the Hernandez residence.

Hernandez has been uncooperative with police following the death of a 27 year old man in Industrial Park near his home.  Hernandez has 18 career touchdown catches and one Pro-Bowl appearance since being drafted in the 4th round in 2010.

Ryan Nassib Will be Number 1 QB.

ryan_nassib_nfl_draft

The 2013 NFL Draft might not be packed full with top flight quarterbacks, but this draft could be important for one young man who not many people know about Ryan Nassib.

Nassib is a 23 year old from West Chester, PA who played his college ball a Syracuse University. He is underrated in almost all categories and should go as the top quarterback in this draft.

Many think Geno Smith from West Virginia will, but his lack of mental toughness, struggles with reading the defense, and overrated arm he will likely fall to the 2nd round. Some say Matt Barkley will be the next big thing, similar to a Drew Brees. All I see is the USC quarterback curse continue. The biggest question mark for Barkley is whether his shoulder is healed enough for the weak armed young man.

After looking at the first two then we look at Nassib. He has a great arm, high football IQ, good athleticism, and the mental poise of playing on a rebuilt team. The only question is if he will get a shot to start in the league.

Watch out for the 8th pick the Bills hired his college coach Doug Marrone and Nassib would love to play in Buffalo. All in all Nassib will be the top QB from the 2013 draft in 5 years.
